SAMUEL LINTARO HOPF
Photographer, Filmmaker and GR Ambassador.

I grew up in Germany but was born in Kamakura, Japan. Outside of Japan I'm known as "Samuel". In Japan I become "Lintaro". Whenever I get asked what one should call me I say "either is fine". I'm neither fully Japanese, nor fully German. Photography gives me a sense of home. I picked up a camera in my childhood and have never stopped photographing since. After studying communication design in 2012 I was offered an internship at a very prestigious advertising agency. But I followed my heart instead (and with the encouragement of a mentor) and decided to work freelance. My photography is focused on real life stories of the human experience. When I am not working you can find me spend time with my son and enjoying a quiet life in the countryside. My base is in Lower Saxony & Hamburg but I'm available for assignments worldwide.
