COLOR
Inspired by Positive Film
Since I got the Ricoh GR (the first APSC GR) in 2013, I became absolutely obsessed with the positiv film effect filter. There is something really special about this look that is really satisfying
for anyone who loves to shoot in color. Positive Film is a film simulation that was made to recreate the look of analog slidefilm. Characteristics of this Film Simulation are strong
reds, deep blues, bright and desaturated greens and a flat contrast in the midtones while retaining rich blacktones. For many GR photographers, this film simulation is a staple and much
preferred over the standard color profile. Positive Film is also very versatile. It is frequently used for travel photography, landscape photography, street photography & basically
everything that is worthy of a snapshot. I created 6 presets that are based on the GR, GRII & GRIII positive film looks. They work also very well on Fujifilm RAW files.
CHROME
Inspired by Fuji Neopan Acros
Another look that I love dearly is the look of Fuji Neopan Acros. Although I never shot the analog film stock myself, I use the digital counterpart on my Fujifilm camera as my
standard film simulation. I took some of my favourite photographs using this Film Simulation. I created a preset that generates the same vibe and feel of a digital Acros
image. Additionally, I gave it a little bit more contrast. Yellow, Red, Green & Blue filters are also available. These presets work well as a base for editing either high contrast
black & white, or monochrome images with great midtones.
Film Grain
I included two Presets for Film Grain. Fine Grain & Soft Grain (see slideshow above for samples). Fine Grain doesn't affect the sharpness and goes well with anything, if a more organic film
look is desired. Soft Grain reduces the sharpness quite a bit. Digital Cameras can sometimes oversharpen the Image, even with RAW files. With Soft Grain I tried to create the same Grain
structure that I get when I scan film negatives.
