I have noticed that I take a lot of photographs of people indulged in their thoughts or the subconscious. Eyes are either closed or seem to gaze into nothingness. This "nothingness" is a place we can call "Inner Space". In French there is also the word "ennui", which can be described as a feeling that combines tiredness and boredom. This was my original project title, but I find its meaning too negative. From personal experience I can say that I sometimes think about very positive things as well. while I am "out". I find it very interesting how we are capable to tap into our "inner space" and become totally oblivious of our surroundings. Street Photography often focuses on what is happening right in front of our eyes or our camera. With this project I want to capture the inner space moments we sometimes dwell in until we "wake up" and come back to the outer world.
